CLOLBR – Ignite the signal EP

CLOBR’s "Ignite the Signal" arrives with the energy of an artist switching the lights back on after a long silence. Released after more than six years away, the track doesn’t sound nostalgic for the sake of it: it goes straight for movement, punchy electronic rhythms and a vocal hook from US songwriter Daniel Melody that keeps the track firmly in the present.
The title track came together through an unusual international collaboration, with Melody writing and recording the vocals remotely before CLOBR built the final arrangement and production around them. The result feels deliberately independent and hands-on, with the Glasgow-based producer letting the track develop from instinct rather than overworking every detail.
The EP’s second track, "Midi Junction" shifts gears into deeper house, bringing in melodic piano and a clear affection for 90s club music. That contrast works in the release’s favour, showing that CLOBR’s return isn’t about picking up exactly where he left off — it’s about seeing what happens when he starts making music again.
