Denon DJ updates one of its flagship standalone systems with the new PRIME 4 G2, a four-channel console designed to deliver a complete DJ experience without the need for a laptop. The concept builds on the philosophy that made the PRIME series popular, while introducing a number of significant improvements in performance, processing power and creative control.

Among the most noticeable upgrades are the 8-inch jog wheels with integrated displays and the large 10.1-inch multi-touch screen, which allows DJs to browse their library, control tracks and access the system’s main features quickly and intuitively. The new hardware also delivers increased processing power, designed to make the overall workflow faster and support more advanced functions.

Stems play a central role in the PRIME 4 G2, allowing DJs to separate and manipulate elements such as vocals and instrumentals directly during a set. This opens up new creative possibilities, turning a traditional mix between two tracks into something much closer to live remixing.

The PRIME 4 G2 also introduces 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive MPCe pads, which can be used for Hot Cues, Rolls, Stems, effects and other performance functions. The FX section has also been expanded, with dedicated controls that make it easier to shape the sound without constantly navigating through menus.

Another interesting feature is the integration of lighting control through Engine Lighting and DMX output, making the unit particularly useful for mobile DJs, clubs and events. In this way, the PRIME 4 G2 can become not only the centre of the audio setup, but also a tool for managing part of the visual experience of a performance.

Connectivity is equally comprehensive, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, support for major music streaming services and the option to install an internal SATA drive for a fully self-contained music library. The audio section also includes Main, Booth and Zone outputs, microphone inputs and several options for connecting external sources.

With the PRIME 4 G2, Denon DJ continues to push the all-in-one concept beyond the idea of a simple standalone controller. Mixing, Stems, effects, streaming and lighting control are brought together in a single system designed to give DJs greater creative and operational freedom. It is a significant evolution of the PRIME platform and one of the most complete solutions currently available in the standalone DJ market.
