In this conversation, PAAX share how their music, inspired by a Mayan word meaning "to make music", blends tradition, techno-logy, and sounds gathered during their travels. They discuss their creative pro-cess, collaborations, and future projects, offering an honest insight into their artistic journey and the influences shaping their unique sound.

PAAX explained that their name, meaning "to make music" in Mayan, perfectly reflects their daily dedication and creative philo-sophy. For them, making music is more than just a profession it's a meditative and deeply intuitive act that connects them to higher awareness and the energy around them. They described their sound as a natural balance between precise electronic production and organic, spontaneous elements captured during their travels. In the studio, they start with a structured electronic base and then layer in natural sounds like local in-struments, voices, and ambient noise to bring emotion and unpredictability. During live shows, technology keeps the performance tight, but there's always room for improvisation and interaction with the audience, making each experience unique.

Travel is a crucial source of inspiration for PAAX. They absorb the rhythms, atmosphe-res, and emotions of the places they vi-sit-from the Mediterranean to Latin America and Europeand incorporate these sonic memories into their music. Beyond sounds, traveling shapes their perspective on tempo, mood, and storytelling, allowing them to convey the essence of each location in their tracks.

On collaborations, they emphasized that every shared project and stage has been an opportunity for growth rather than a single turning point. Each artist they work with brings fresh energy and challenges that help them evolve both artistically and personally.

Reflecting on 2025, PAAX said it was a year full of movement, new collaborations, and artistic development that naturally influenced their plans for 2026. They're preparing energetic releases on their own label, Pitch Sur-fing, alongside a new album with their band that reconnects with their roots. Travel and performance remain central, highlighted by their first US tour—a major milestone to bring their sound to new audiences while staying true to their core identity.
