A nocturnal rite where myth, sound and the body fall into shadow, opening the first chapter of a new audiovisual cycle

Nicoorion

Chilean filmmaker and musician Nicolás Orion returns with "DÆMON": Chapter I – Medea, the new video from his electronic project Nicoorion. Directed by Lucas de la Vega in his debut, the piece launches a dark symbolic world shaped by myth, body and transformation.

Rather than retelling Medea’s story in a direct way, the video treats the myth as a physical and emotional descent. Nicoorion, Bruno de la Vega and Úrsula Campos appear as three presences caught in a charged ritual space, where movement, sound and tension replace conventional narrative.

Úrsula Campos, whose practice is connected to Butoh and body performance, brings one of the video’s most striking images: hair suspension as trance, resistance and metamorphosis. Bruno de la Vega, guitarist and close collaborator on the project, adds a raw musical and physical weight to the piece.

Visually, "DÆMON": Chapter IMedea moves through deep reds, heavy shadows and ceremonial imagery, drawing from art cinema, physical performance and Orphic symbolism. The track itself, created by Nicolás Orion and Bruno de la Vega, blends melodic techno, ambient and cinematic textures, with production by José Ascui and mixing/mastering by Barry Sage.

Released at the end of last year, "DÆMON" begins a wider audiovisual series exploring inner forces, shadow states and creative impulse.
