French producer NOPRA’s "Poison", released on Cafe De Anatolia, brings together Afro House percussion, melodic textures and a distinctive male vocal. Its theme is attraction with an uneasy edge: wanting something you know you should resist. That premise gives the track a personal focus beyond its dancefloor setting.
The voice is central to the release’s identity. Described as intimate and mysterious, it carries the emotional tension, while organic grooves provide movement. The appeal lies in that relationship between rhythm and vulnerability, though the release notes alone cannot establish how convincingly it develops across the track.
Following "On My Love" "Poison" continues NOPRA’s exploration of Afro and Melodic House. These are familiar ingredients; the vocal and its subject offer the clearest promise of individuality. On paper, it is a focused release with an emotional idea worth pursuing.
