Sound Waves Festival celebrates 21 years of hard techno in Portugal

Thousands of ravers from over 30 countries gathered in Esmoriz for 21 hours of non-stop music across two stages.

One of the highlights of the 21st edition of Sound Waves Festival was undoubtedly its carefully curated lineup, bringing together some of the biggest names in the international hard techno scene alongside a new generation of fast-rising talent.
The Main Stage featured powerful performances from Trym, SPFDJ, Restricted, Adrián Mills, Cloudy, 6EJOU, GTH, Klofama, Ornella, Sheila, and Toxic Machinery, creating an intense atmosphere throughout the festival. One of the most anticipated moments of the weekend was the explosive Svetec b2b O.B.I., a set that kept the crowd moving well into the morning.
The main stage program was further elevated by standout back-to-back performances from KUKO b2b Johannes Schuster, RækkE b2b RØY, and SLVL b2b USH, showcasing the diversity and intensity of today's hard techno sound.
Meanwhile, the Second Stage continued its mission of spotlighting emerging artists and underground talent. Festivalgoers enjoyed sets from BECDA, Caldas, GA70 b2b Paisana, GIØ, Gui Bez, Luna, Lunekova, Makecatbleed, Morgaz b2b Cunha, Neltech, Ophell, Pharah b2b Satyr, and Trik, taking the audience through the evolving sounds of hard techno, schranz, and hard bounce.
By combining internationally acclaimed headliners with the next wave of artists shaping the genre, Sound Waves once again proved why it remains one of Europe's leading hard techno festivals, creating an unforgettable experience for thousands of ravers from more than 30 countries.
