Vanto & Mancuso: "I see a future where I will continue to mix genres"

Vanto & Mancuso are a DJ and music production duo rooted in melodic techno, guiding listeners on a journey through distant spaces and times. Their music blends emotion, immersive atmospheres, and dramatic energy, creating a unique electronic experience. Notable releases include "Melodic" on CIUFF Records, "Nordstern", "Salicus" on Sirup Music, and "Fly to Me" on PinkStar Black, tracks that have firmly established their place in the electronic scene. Their evolving sound continues to shine, as shown by their recent release, "Apposiate", a track that marks a new chapter in their musical journey, enriching the landscape with fresh sonic nuances.

"The Answer" is your recent EP released on Wout Records. What was the creative process behind this release? What message or emotions did you want to convey through the tracks on this EP?

The creative process behind "The Answer" has been an intense and personal journey. I began working on this EP during a period of deep reflection, trying to explore themes of growth, challenges, and finding answers in times of uncertainty.

Your music is described as a journey between space and time, mixing emotions and drama. How do you manage to convey these sensations through electronic music, and what are your main musical influences?

Our music is born from the intent to create an atmosphere that can transport the listener on an emotional journey. I use electronic music as a means to combine different sounds and textures, playing with rhythms and melodies to evoke feelings and trying to convey a unique experience that can make the listener travel through emotions and moods.

Your sound often pushes the limits of sound systems while staying rooted in melodic techno. How do you balance power and melody in a track without compromising either element?

Balancing power and melody in a melodic techno track is a challenge that requires careful consideration of several elements. Here are some approaches that can help: track structure, layering, space and frequencies, effects and textures, feedback and revisions. Balancing power and melody requires practice and attention to detail. Experiment and listen to many reference tracks to find your personal ideal.

Collaboration as a DJ duo is a key aspect of your project. How do you each contribute to the creative process, and how do you decide which ideas or sounds to explore together?

In our project, collaboration as a DJ duo is fundamental, because it brings a unique dynamic to our music. We both have different tastes and influences, but we always find a meeting point that allows us to explore new sonic directions. When we work together, each of us brings something different to the table: one of us might focus more on the selection of sounds and the technical part of the mix, while the other might be more involved in the emotional aspect or in the search for new musical ideas.

Looking ahead, do you have any upcoming projects, new productions, or live performances in the works? How do you see your sound evolving in the coming years?

Looking to the future, I have many ideas and projects in the works! I am already working on new productions that will explore different sounds. The intent is to evolve and experiment musically, integrating influences that I may not have had the opportunity to explore in my current EP.

In terms of live performances, I hope to have the opportunity to take my music to different stages, perhaps participating in festivals and concerts that can offer new experiences for both me and the audience.

As for the evolution of my sound, I see a future where I will continue to mix genres, incorporating elements of electronic and acoustic, always keeping a focus on emotions and personal stories. My hope is to create an even more immersive sonic experience that can resonate with a variety of listeners. It will be a journey, and I can't wait to share it with everyone.
