AlphaTheta has officially introduced the CDJ-3000X, its new flagship media player and successor to the widely adopted CDJ-3000 released in 2020. The new unit raises the bar with advanced connectivity, enhanced reliability, and a refined audio engine designed to deliver the highest possible performance in professional DJ environments.
The CDJ-3000X integrates seamlessly with today’s connected workflows. With native support for cloud storage and music streaming services, DJs can access their libraries from anywhere. Built-in Wi-Fi and a front-panel NFC touchpoint allow instant connection to online content via smartphone, eliminating the need for LAN cabling. The CloudDirectPlay feature requires a subscription to rekordbox Creative or Professional, reinforcing AlphaTheta’s commitment to a cloud-centric ecosystem.
The unit is equipped with a 10.1-inch touch display — the largest ever featured on an AlphaTheta media player. It provides improved navigation with the ability to view up to 16 tracks at once, streamlining browsing and track selection. Onboard tools such as playlist editing and copy & paste functions further enhance workflow efficiency. A newly added USB-C port expands compatibility with the latest storage devices, ensuring flexibility for diverse performance setups.
Key performance controls have been reengineered. The jog wheel now offers an extended tension adjustment range for greater precision, while the redesigned Play and Cue buttons provide improved resilience, with AlphaTheta claiming they withstand over 500,000 additional presses compared to the previous generation.
At the core of the CDJ-3000X lies a high-performance DAC paired with a redesigned power supply, resulting in high-resolution audio that balances power, clarity, and depth. The improvements deliver reduced noise, thicker low-end response, improved channel separation, and a more consistent frequency response. The result is a sound profile tailored for maximum impact in professional club environments.
One of the most significant additions is support for the Universal DJ Library, an evolution of rekordbox’s Device Library Plus. This functionality allows playback of music exported not only from rekordbox but also from third-party platforms such as djay Pro and Traktor Pro 4, offering broader flexibility for professional users.
In July, AlphaTheta unveiled its new portable groovebox, the ChordCat, followed by the launch of a new official rekordbox USB stick, created in collaboration with hard drive specialists SanDisk and designed specifically for DJs.
With the CDJ-3000X, AlphaTheta is not only evolving its industry-standard media player line but also signaling the company’s future direction: a globally connected, highly flexible, and professional-grade ecosystem designed for the next generation of DJs.
The AlphaTheta CDJ-3000X is now available and ships at a price of £2,399. Watch the AlphaTheta teaser video below and find out more here.
