Finn Forte

With three decades behind the decks, Finn Forte has captivated dance floors with an infectious blend of funky house and ’90s sounds. After ten years in the studio, he’s emerging as an artist who creates tracks full of soul and energy. Drawing inspiration from funk, disco, and his passion for the piano, Finn blends house beats with heartfelt vocals in vibrant, emotional productions. His name reflects the depth and feeling he brings to his music—a personal journey aimed at moving and connecting with listeners. Today, Finn Forte stands out as a fresh, authentic voice in the dance scene, inviting everyone to feel, dance, and truly experience the music.

Finn Forte speaks with clarity and emotional depth about the artistic and personal journey behind his recent work, centred on the balance between memory and innovation.

Working with ’90s analog machines proved both inspiring and challenging. These tools carry a strong sense of history and can easily pull the sound toward something familiar. Forte’s main challenge was knowing when to stop, avoiding both indulgent nostalgia and an overly polished modern aesthetic. Rather than recreating a specific era, he focused on preserving an honest emotional core, allowing the music to reflect where he is today.

That philosophy is at the heart of Loss, an album born from the end of a 17-year relationship. For Forte, songwriting is a deeply therapeutic process: emotions arrive suddenly and are captured in the music before being fully understood. Repeatedly listening to the finished songs becomes part of the healing, until the emotional weight begins to lift. This raw honesty also strengthens his connection with listeners, offering them a sense of shared experience and emotional recognition.

Reflecting on his artistic evolution, Forte describes moving from imitating his heroes to developing a clearly defined identity. NYE 1999 (Hold Me Like It’s 1999) marks a turning point, drawing from his formative clubbing years in the north of England while grounding those memories in a contemporary production. Classic ’90s house elements sit alongside modern grooves and drums, transforming nostalgia into a statement of personal maturity.

Live experiences have played a crucial role in shaping his creative approach. From Burning Man to the Full Moon Party, Forte sees himself first as part of the crowd rather than a performer, absorbing the energy and emotional shifts of the dancefloor. This perspective informs the music he creates in the studio, which is always intended to move him physically and emotionally before being shared with others.

Looking ahead, Forte points to ambitions such as playing at Amnesia Ibiza and collaborating with iconic voices like Julie McKnight and CeCe Peniston. Nostalgia, for him, is not about looking backward but about understanding where he comes from. By combining modern tools with timeless sounds, he sees innovation and heritage as naturally intertwined, meeting wherever music is able to tell an honest story in the present.
