Can you share how your musical journey began and which experiences have most influenced the creation of your hypnotic and spiritual sound?
I’ve been in the music industry since 1996. Before this project, I had other musical endeavors that took me on tours around the world. The idea for Aiwaska came to me in 2016. It wasn’t an easy task—I wanted to create not just a music project but also a social initiative that would unite people around a shared goal. The main purpose was to inspire people and encourage acts of kindness. From 2016 to 2019, I worked on shaping the concept and image of the project. It was challenging but incredibly engaging.
In terms of musical direction, I aimed to blend the classic sounds of house and techno with modern influences and ethnic elements. I spent countless hours in the studio trying to get the sound just right. Beyond the music, I wanted a concept that would bring people together. My deep love for wildlife and nature fit perfectly with this vision. And so, the project’s core mission was born: supporting wildlife and protecting nature.
What was the experience like working with Megane Mercury on the "Daimonic" EP? Were there any particular challenges or memorable moments during the production process?
Megane Mercury is a truly unique vocalist with a bold style and delivery. The first time I heard his voice was on a track by Catz’n’Dogz, and I immediately knew I wanted to collaborate with him. At that moment, I was working on a new track but struggling to find the right vocal fit. Once the instrumental version was ready, I decided to reach out to Megane Mercury directly on Instagram. He replied and agreed to work with me. The process was interesting , and we created the track effortlessly, almost in one breath.
Your choice to wear a mask during performances is quite symbolic. Can you explain what it represents for you and how this tradition connects to your musical approach?
Aiwaska is a character of his own; the mask is his face. I designed this persona to stand on its own and to be adaptable for digital projects as well.
Your Aiwaska Planet project focuses on sustainability and helping the environment. What specific initiatives do you have planned, and how will your events and NFTs contribute to this mission?
Aiwaska is more than just a music project—it’s also a way to support wildlife and nature. We created a special NFT collection, launched our own music label, Aiwaska Planet, and have a series of Aiwaska Planet parties. This year, we even introduced a limited-edition fragrance. A portion of the proceeds from all these projects goes toward helping animals and the environment. We also produce photo and video projects centered around nature and wild animals. Our purpose is genuine, with no ulterior motives; we want to raise awareness and remind people that we’re not alone on this planet—we must support both animals and nature.
Looking ahead, what are your goals for your musical project, and how do you see the evolution of electronic music in the current landscape and in the coming years?
I have many plans. In the near future, I aim to actively develop all the directions we’re already pursuing. In 2025, we plan to launch an Aiwaska Live Show and a Digital Art Performance. That same year, we’ll be establishing our charity foundation for animals.
In terms of electronic music, I see incredible potential in integrating digital technology and blending music with visual art. To me, the most important thing is not to replicate successful projects but to experiment, expand our horizons, innovate, and set new trends. True creativity knows no boundaries or limits!
