The Ancient Theatre of Taormina experienced a night destined to go down in history: for the first time, an electronic music artist performed on its millennia-old stage, and the ones to achieve this milestone were Giolì & Assia.
We were invited by them and had the honor of attending not only the concert but also the soundcheck, fully immersing ourselves in the atmosphere leading up to such a major event. Meeting them, speaking with them, and seeing firsthand their dedication and the work behind such a meticulously crafted show made us feel part of their dream.

The night opened with Sona, son of Black Coffee, delivering an elegant and deep set, followed by Andrea Oliva, who engaged the crowd with an energetic DJ set. Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for: Giolì & Assia mesmerized the theatre with "Resurrection", an immersive audiovisual show that combined music, visuals, and lights into a breathtaking sonic and visual narrative.
They performed with complete synergy, seamlessly switching between piano, vocals, and electronic drums, intertwining their roles fluidly while always staying united on stage, creating a continuous musical dialogue.

The atmosphere was unique—suspended in time. The theatre, lit by a waxing moon, seemed to breathe along with the music. Among the audience, there was a shared sense of wonder, a deep emotional engagement that made every moment feel alive and powerful.
To crown an already perfect evening, a touching moment occurred at the end: a Brazilian girl proposed to her partner right there, in the midst of emotions and applause from the crowd.
At the end of the concert, we went backstage to congratulate the duo for gifting us such a magical moment. There, we also had the pleasure of meeting Marlon Ferry, the designer behind their show outfits—the same artist who designed the stage costumes for Anyma’s performances at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
It was a concert that exceeded every expectation—an event that was not just music, but a collective experience made of art, dreams, and genuine connection. For us, it was a privilege to be there, to witness it all up close, and to feel part of something truly unique.
