Javi Row, born Javier Garcia Ramos, is a DJ and producer from Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. Known for his dynamic sound and distinctive musical vision, he has steadily established himself within the international electronic music scene. With performances at major clubs and festivals around the world, Javi Row continues to captivate audiences through his energetic sets and evolving artistic identity.
Being originally from the Canary Islands, how do you think your background has influenced your approach to electronic music?
Growing up in the Canary Islands gave me a very unique perspective on music and culture. Being surrounded by the ocean creates a sense of openness and introspection at the same time. There’s a natural connection to rhythm there — sunsets, long nights, multicultural influences from tourism — all of that shaped my sensitivity to atmosphere. My approach to electronic music has always been about creating a journey, something immersive and emotional, rather than just playing tracks. The island energy taught me how powerful music can be in connecting people from different backgrounds on the same dance floor.
Your style spans deep house, melodic techno, and minimal—what would you say is the common thread that connects these genres in your music?
The common thread is emotion and groove. No matter the tempo or structure, I’m always looking for depth — something hypnotic but soulful. Deep house gives me warmth, melodic techno allows me to explore tension and storytelling, and minimal gives space and precision. What connects them in my sets is intention. I don’t see them as separate genres; I see them as different colors of the same emotional spectrum.
You’ve mentioned your intuition for reading the dance floor—can you share a moment when this skill completely transformed one of your sets?
I remember one night when I had prepared a more melodic and progressive set, but as soon as I stepped into the booth, I felt the crowd needed something more raw and rhythmic. Instead of following my plan, I shifted direction completely — going deeper and more stripped-back. The energy changed instantly. That moment reminded me that DJing is not about sticking to a script; it’s about listening — not only to the music but to the people. Those spontaneous decisions are often what make a set unforgettable.
Beyond music, you pay close attention to aesthetics and emotional experiences in your live shows. How do you plan these elements before going on stage?
For me, a performance starts long before the first track plays. I think about the space, the lighting, the mood of the event, even what I wear. Everything communicates something. I visualize the emotional arc I want to create — where the tension builds, where it releases. I also collaborate closely with visual teams when possible, because sound and image should complement each other. My goal is to create a complete sensory experience, not just a DJ set.

You are currently collaborating with ZAIRA on a project that blends art, music, and style. What has been the most inspiring moment in this collaboration so far?
Working with ZAIRA has been incredibly inspiring because our connection goes far beyond the professional level. She is my wife, the mother of our daughter, and a very talented photographer. The fact that we build this project together makes it deeply personal.
One of the most powerful moments has been realizing how naturally our ideas merge — how sound, fashion, photography, and visual storytelling can speak the same language. She leads everything related to my image and visual identity on social media, and that creative direction has elevated my project in a very organic way. It’s not just about performing together; it’s about building a shared universe as a family and as artists.
You’ve performed at iconic festivals like Tomorrowland, Awakenings, and EDC Las Vegas—how does your approach to a set differ compared to a more intimate club environment?
Festivals require a broader energy. You have less time to build trust, so you need to make a strong impact while still staying true to your identity. In clubs, especially intimate ones, you can take more risks and build a slower, deeper journey. I love both experiences — festivals are explosive and powerful, while clubs are intimate and hypnotic. The key is adapting without losing authenticity.
As a producer, your music has been released on Bedrock Records and Saved Records. Which experiences have shaped you most as an artist?
Releasing on respected labels gave me confidence and perspective. It pushed me to refine my sound and think long-term. But beyond labels, the most shaping experiences have been the countless hours in the studio experimenting, failing, and evolving. Growth as an artist comes from consistency and self-reflection more than from milestones.

You founded your own label, INDIA PRODUCTIONS—what criteria do you use when deciding which projects or artists to support?
With INDIA PRODUCTIONS, I look for authenticity. Technical quality is important, of course, but what really matters is identity. I’m interested in artists who have something to say — who are not chasing trends but expressing a clear vision. The label is a platform for artistic freedom and emotional depth.
What are the biggest challenges in maintaining a personal and versatile sound in the international electronic music scene?
The biggest challenge is avoiding external pressure. Trends change fast, and it’s easy to get distracted. Maintaining a personal sound requires discipline and self-awareness. At the same time, versatility is about growth — evolving without losing your essence. It’s a balance between innovation and identity.
Looking ahead, what are your next goals as a DJ/producer and as part of your creative duo with ZAIRA?
As a DJ and producer, I want to keep pushing boundaries sonically and emotionally, releasing music that reflects where I am in each moment of my life. With ZAIRA, the goal is to expand our creative vision internationally and continue building a multidisciplinary concept that merges music, photography, fashion, and digital identity. Because she leads the visual and branding side of the project, we are able to shape a very strong and cohesive narrative. More than a collaboration, it’s a shared life project — as artists, as partners, and as a family.
