Aphoteosis is an Italian project formed by DJs and producers Davide and Marco, specializing in melodic techno. After years of individual experience performing in clubs in Brescia, Milan, and abroad, they joined forces in a shared project. Their productions, released on prominent labels, have caught the attention of artists such as Henri Bergmann, Th;en, Artbat, and Kevin De Vries. They have also shared the stage with DJs from Afterlife and Zamna, aiming to establish themselves firmly in the electronic and melodic techno scene. Their musical goal is to take the audience on an emotional journey with a deep and immersive sound.

Your latest track "U&I" just dropped on Parquet Recordings — what does this release mean to you, and how did the creative process behind it unfold?

With U&I, we have deviated a little from recent releases by looking for a fresher sound, and less electronic with a vocal that was catchy and immediately identifying. For us this release was very satisfactory, because after signing with Parquet we received requests from international artists.

You’ve shared the stage with artists affiliated with Afterlife and Zamna. What was it like to connect with that level of talent, and how has it influenced your artistic direction?

Having a connection with these artists is essential, because you have the opportunity to know them artistically and therefore understand the path they have taken to reach certain levels. When you share the stage with artists of a certain caliber you understand that nothing is left to chance and the quality of each single element is really high.

Your upcoming gigs span Italy, Denmark, and Spain — how do you adapt your sets when playing in such diverse and international venues?

Clearly every context is different so you have to be ready to adapt. In Italy, paradoxically, it is more difficult to make this product understood even if we have always had an excellent response from the public and the professionals. As far as the abroad is much more natural to express yourself because they leave you margin of expression and clubbing is more experienced than in Italy.

Your music is supported by artists like Artbat and Kevin De Vries — what does it mean to you to receive this kind of recognition from such prominent names in the melodic techno scene?

It is certainly nice to be supported by these artists, we clearly see it as a starting point because the quality leap comes at the moment when you give continuity to propose thick tracks.

Your music aims to emotionally engage the audience: what are the key elements that make your sound so recognizable and impactful?

We are always looking for the sound that distinguishes us, working hard every day to find our identity. Our aim is to engage the audience by proposing an aggressive sound but at the same time penetrating and enticing, thus creating an emotional journey.
