Daft Punk reunite for "Interstella 5555"
The former creative minds behind Daft Punk are reuniting for a special event in Los Angeles, offering fans an immersive experience into the world of the legendary French duo.
On September 30th, at the United Theater, a newly remastered 4K version of "Interstella 5555": The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem will be screened. Originally released in 2003 to accompany the "Discovery" album, one of Daft Punk’s greatest hits, the iconic anime film will now be presented with enhanced visuals and Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound, making for an unparalleled audiovisual experience. This event also marks the 20th anniversary of the film, a rare chance to see it on the big screen.
Following the screening, fans will be treated to an exclusive panel featuring Pedro Winter, Daft Punk's former manager and pivotal figure in their global success, alongside Cédric Hervet, their creative director who helped shape the duo's groundbreaking visual identity. Both Winter and Hervet played crucial roles in Daft Punk’s evolution, from their pioneering electronic sound to their cutting-edge visual projects. The panel will provide insights into the making of "Interstella 5555", sharing details about the collaboration with director Kazuhisa Takenouchi and anime legend Leiji Matsumoto, as well as revealing behind-the-scenes stories from the creative process that established Daft Punk as cultural icons.
