DNKLE is a DJ, performer, and electronic music artist based in Mumbai, India. A highly skilled producer, his finely crafted compositions blend post-contemporary melodic techno with a timeless songwriting sensibility. Passionate about creating innovative audio-visual experiences for soul-searchers worldwide, DNKLE founded Gita, his record label and creative platform, in 2024. A seasoned DJ, he gained widespread recognition with his live-streamed performance "DNKLE Live at Burj Bhenswara", an exclusive showcase featuring an entirely original and unreleased tracklist that garnered a significant number of views, comments, and shares across social media.

"VISADA" is described as a deep, atmospheric exploration with tribal influences and immersive textures. What were the main inspirations or experiences that guided you while creating this track?

Understanding the lowness of the spirit was the main inspiration, however in the studio it was about finding ways to express despair and a search for newness and open myself to expressing without judgement.

Your music blends elements of Melodic Techno with a strong songwriting sensibility. How do you balance the emotional and narrative aspects with the typical structures of electronic music?

Electronic music is one side of the coin, the energy that I wish to invoke, the songwriting and lyrics are my way of showcasing communal unity in expression of all emotions and hoping to invoke enlightenment in all those who wish to connect through the language that is music. A balance is only achieved when they become almost indistinguishable and not forced.

You recently founded Gita, your record label and creative platform. What is your vision for this project, and how do you see it influencing the electronic music scene in India and beyond?

GITA RECORDINGS is a start towards a much larger vision of being an institution of expression to help Artists how to create without attachment to the results, that is something which I feel will bring true innovation and revive or save a culture that needs more attention to infrastructure, laws and collaborations. If we as a label can help or be involved in the process of a much needed restructuring then that would be our first step in our vision.

Your live-streamed performance, "DNKLE Live at Burj Bhenswara", featuring an all-original tracklist, gained great success. How important is the live and performance aspect for you in bringing your music to the audience?

Making music in the studio is an extremely personal and yet deeply satisfying part of my journey as an Artist, but when I have the opportunity to showcase a full self composed show and have a somewhat complete control (minus the audience's reactions) to the performance, that for me is the ULTIMATE rush, the true high of success is when the audience relates and reacts to my music.

Looking ahead, what new directions or sonic experiments would you like to explore in your upcoming work? Do you have any special projects in the pipeline?

I’m aiming to explore collaborations and enter uncharted waters but the exciting part is the hope it holds to enjoy the path ahead, maybe blending of two sounds, two people who knows? Yes I do have some very special projects in the pipeline and will be revealed shortly, all I can say is a lot more music is coming and it will cater to audiences across the world.
