Milan is heading into autumn with a month that blends electronic music, visual arts and urban culture. After a successful spring season that brought artists such as Ilario Alicante and Marco Carola to the city, Vision Open Air returns to light up Ex Macello, a former industrial site now reborn as a creative hub and symbol of urban regeneration.
Ex Macello is more than just a venue: it is a virtuous example of transformation, a place that has evolved from industrial space to community platform, uniting club culture, visual arts and performance. At a time when many independent cultural spaces in Italy are forced to close, its rebirth proves that another model is possible.
September’s program highlights the international essence of the project, presenting a line-up that connects legendary figures with the new icons of the global electronic scene. The journey begins on Friday, September 6 with Richie Hawtin, pioneer of minimal techno and tireless innovator; on Saturday, September 14 the stage belongs to The Martinez Brothers, ambassadors of New York house; Friday, September 20 features Honey Dijon, an artist who merges music, fashion, and activism; on Saturday, September 21 the spotlight turns to Amelie Lens, the undisputed queen of European techno; during Milan Fashion Week, on Thursday, September 26, Dixon takes over with his refined and visionary aesthetic; and finally, on Saturday, September 28, the grand finale with Black Coffee and his unmistakable blend of afro and house sounds.
Vision Open Air is not just a music festival but also a cultural and political act: transforming an abandoned industrial site into a hub of collective creativity sends a strong signal in a country where spaces for music and contemporary culture often struggle to survive. September 2025 will not only be a month of events—it will be a manifesto of resistance and regeneration, with Milan once again standing as an international cultural capital.
