Simone Glionna, known as Glionna, is a Milan-based DJ and producer renowned for turning pure energy into musical vibration. Specializing in unique and innovative Mash-Ups, he blends commercial vocals with groove, future house, and electro sounds, earning support from leading Italian and international DJs. His 2018 remix of Alan Walker’s "The Spectre", co-produced with Steeve, remains a staple in Walker’s own sets, highlighting Glionna’s global influence. Through his "Glionna On Air" radioshow, he constantly explores new electronic trends (tech house, melodic house/techno, afro house, jackin’ House), delivering immersive sonic journeys. More than just a DJ, Glionna is a pioneer who pushes the boundaries of electronic music, forging a powerful bond with his audience.

"Ideal Superhero" is your recent collaboration with Skytters on AFRODICTO. What was the inspiration behind this track, and how did you two work together in the studio?

It all started one afternoon when I was jogging. I don't know how I came up with the idea of creating a track with a robotic voice speaking motivational phrases and conveying a message that would make people think about years we’re living. I sent an audio clip to Alex (Skytters), who immediately got to work and within an hour had created a draft to build on. Then we met in the studio a couple of times to finish the track, all has gone clean in the process. We've been collaborating on songs together for years, and now we understand each other instantly and complement each other— I'm more creative, while he's much more technical and skilled at music production.

Your style blends groove, future house, and electro with commercial vocals. How would you define your sonic identity, and what elements can’t be missing from your tracks?

It's not an easy question because, being much more of a DJ than a producer, I'm heavily influenced by current trends. To answer your question briefly, I can say that in my productions I try to incorporate what I always want to bring to my sets: energy and rhythm in primis, and sounds that take the listener's mind on a journey. Two elements that are definitely essential are a wicked bassline, accompanied by emotional breakdowns; "IDEAL SUPERHERO" perfectly embodies this vision.

You’re known for your mash-ups that often wow the audience. Is there a mash-up you’re particularly proud of or that has a special story behind it?

I specifically don’t remember a mashup but a remix from late 2018 I made with my friend Steeve in his bedroom. The original song was "The Spectre" by Alan Walker and we did a sort of Progressive-Groove version. We finished it and released it as a free download on Steeve's Soundcloud profile, without too many pretensions. A few months later, Steeve stopped producing, and we barely spoke about music again. End of story? Not a chance. A few years later, I decided to open my own profile on 1001tracklist, and to do that you have to connect your account to your artist profile. So I went to check, and there were about 50 supports for that remix... it was Alan Walker himself, playing it all over the world! And he's still playing it in 2025, practically in every set.

This story is perhaps the most incredible precisely because of the randomness of events.

Milan has a vibrant music scene. How much does the city influence your music and your live sets?

Milan is very unusual about events because there's no one dominant genre: there are Boiler Rooms, House events, Hip-Hop Parties, and many other. Finding the right key to entertain people from this perspective is extremely difficult,  in my sets I always try to vary a lot, ranging from groove and house atmospheres to often touching on urban and trap remixes and sounds, while maintaining my identity and credibility as a resident DJ.

Looking ahead, are there any international projects or collaborations you dream of pursuing in the coming months?

I'll continue producing with Alex, which makes me happy. We already have some finished songs awaiting pitches, others already signed, and others just in draft form. The goals are clear: work hard to continue improving, while maintaining the serenity and beauty of doing it for fun.
