Nasso: "Music has always been my greatest passion"

Nasser Al-Husseini, known as Nasso, is a self-taught music producer and DJ from Amman, Jordan. From a young age, he developed a passion for electronic music, learning to create tracks through YouTube tutorials and a relentless dedication to trial and error. In just a few years, Nasso has grown from a budding talent to an internationally recognized artist, amassing millions of streams and earning the support of influential figures in the global music scene.

What inspired you to start your journey as a DJ and music producer at such a young age, just 10 years old?

My musical journey began long before I turned 10, as I developed a deep fascination with guitars and pianos. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the opportunity to learn or play them at the time. At the age of 10, I came across a YouTube video of someone seamlessly mixing two tracks, which ignited my passion for DJing. After receiving my first DJ controller as a gift, I dedicated myself to mastering the craft, working tirelessly every day. This commitment eventually led me to explore music production, where I discovered a profound love for electronic music. In 2020, during the pandemic, I focused intensely on production, refining my sound and honing my craft. My journey has always been fueled by a deep love for music and a desire to become a DJ, inspired by watching others bring their art to life.

Can you share how your experience as a self-taught artist helped you turn your passion into an international career?

In 2020, my journey took a more serious turn as I immersed myself in music production, creating tracks almost daily and consistently improving my skills. By 2021, I signed my first record deal and released my debut track—a pivotal moment when I realized my passion could evolve into an international career. Motivated by this breakthrough, I began producing a wide range of tracks, signing with multiple record labels, and earning support from AAA-list DJs. These achievements elevated my passion and propelled me to the next level in my career.

How has being one of the youngest producers and DJs in the Middle East shaped your music style and artistic growth?

Being one of the youngest and most streamed DJ/producers in the Middle East has given me a unique position in the industry. My recent music style blends groovy techno rhythms with Middle Eastern influences, allowing me to express my identity authentically through my work. This fusion has shaped my distinctive sound—techno infused with Arabic rhythms—and has helped me stand out as an artist. Along the way, I’ve grown significantly, earning recognition within my region and gaining support from industry professionals across the MENA region.

Your music has gained support from major artists like Timmy Trumpet and Loud Luxury. How did it feel to receive such recognition so early in your career?

It was an incredible feeling to see my music being taken seriously by these AAA list DJs, as it reflected both the growing recognition of my work and the continuous improvement of my sound. This milestone not only enhanced my credibility as an artist but also served as a turning point, transforming my passion into a thriving career.

What are your next goals as Nasso? Are you working on any new productions or collaborations that we can look forward to?

My future goals as Nasso revolve around consistently releasing new music, with several upcoming tracks already lined up on well-known labels, including two official remixes set to launch early this year. I aim to expand into house music and perform at shows across the Middle East and Europe, sharing my sound with audiences around the globe. I’m particularly excited about my upcoming collaborations with Hoax (BE) and my collaboration with Turkish producer Quentro, as well as my remix for Dzeko and Lil Yachty.
