ORISS: "I think inspiration is always around us, especially in the smallest things"

Ori Savion, known as ORISS, is a DJ and producer from Tel Aviv, Israel. He developed a passion for music at 14 and began producing electronic music at 18. Over the past five years, ORISS has crafted an emotional and sophisticated sound, with releases like "Fly Mode", "City Tours", and "Protocol" blending melodic techno and progressive house. Now gaining international recognition, ORISS is supported by top DJs like Agents Of Time, Massano, and Sasha Carassi.
Hey ORISS, your remix for "Sans Vetements" with Adam Sellouk was released a year ago.. Can you tell us how this project came about and what made the collaboration with Adam unique?
I remember one day we listened to the original track together and immediately realized that the vocal had something special and great potential. We knew we could create a remix that would feel more energetic for the crowd.
So, we reached out to Far&High, the duo behind the original track. They were really into the idea, and from there, the label Kinetika chose to make a collection of remixes for the track featuring different artists, including us.
What makes my projects with Adam unique is the blend of our styles. In every collaboration, each of us brings our own distinct "color", and that’s why every track we create together is truly unique.
You have a strong sonic identity, especially in melodic techno and progressive house. What were your main influences as you got into these genres, and how would you define your sound today compared to your earlier works?
There wasn't one specific thing that drew me to this genre, it just happened. I think inspiration is always around us, especially in the smallest things.
My sound has changed a lot over the years, especially in a genre where you always have to keep up with what's going on. I'm always trying to get better at what I do, and I just really enjoy learning new things and trying new ideas.
You started your musical journey at just 14 and began producing electronic music at 18. What have been the most significant moments in your artistic evolution over the years?
As a kid, I grew up in a home where music was always the main thing. Over time, I always loved collecting different and unique music.
Even as a DJ, I’ve always been into tracks that aren’t too "mainstream", and that’s influenced the way I produce music today.
I’m always trying to push myself and come up with something fresh that you don’t hear anywhere else.
Throughout your career, you've received support from prominent international DJs like Agents of Time, Massano, and Sasha Carassi. How have you experienced this kind of recognition, and what was your reaction to the growing popularity of your sound?
It’s always a great feeling to get support from DJs I respect in the scene. it means a lot, especially since one of my biggest goals is to get my music out there to as many people around the world as possible.
Looking ahead, what are your musical goals for the future, and how do you see yourself evolving within the international electronic music scene? Do you have any upcoming collaborations or projects that particularly excite you?
I think it's always important to stay one step ahead, especially now when people are looking for something fresh and different, and that’s also what helps an artist stand out even more and get more attention.
It's also very important for me to make music when it feels right, and not by force, because that's how I can express myself in production, and it also helps me finish things faster.
This year, I have some exciting releases coming up, and there are some specific artists I'd love to collaborate with in the future.
